Freeze the mixture in a domestic freezer for 24 hours. The bowl will spin stirring the mixture over a stationary paddle assembly. After twenty to thirty minutes the ice cream is ready. This machine is cheaper but can only prepare one batch of Ice cream at a time. Small freezer-unit machines are placed inside the freezer section of a refrigerator. Even some refrigerators have built-in ice-cream maker with certain freezer-unit machines. There are also more expensive machines, having coolant bowl and own mini-freezer built in. These machines are very costly, even more then $300, according the size. Their preparation time is 20 to 30 minutes. You should not move the machines for complete 12 hours after its usage, as moving upsets the freezing system. The manual ice cream makerscontain a freezing liner work just like the similar electric ones. The Manual Machines has an inner bowl, which is placed in a larger outer bowl. The inner bowl constitutes hand cranked mechanism, whi ch turns a pedal that is used to stir the mixture; the outer bowl is then filled with a mixture of salt and ice to provide the cooling. The manual ice cream makers are inexpensive, inconvenient and messy. The process causes the ice and salt mixture to melt; which leaves lot of salty water that needs to be disposed in between the process and ice and salt mixture has to be refilled. A newer form of manual ice-cream maker is the prechilled chamber freezer, which ranges in size from 1 pint to 1 1/2 quarts. The old fashioned ice cream makersThese old fashioned ice cream makers need rock salt and ice in the tub around freezing container to lower the melting temperature of the ice.
