Dishwasher cleans utensils by spraying hot water at temperature 55-65 degrees Celsius or 130-150 degrees Fahrenheit. All conventional dishwashers are of same size essential to get fitted under a counter of 24-inch-wide space.

How to use dishwaters

Dishwashers should be filled with water enough to reach the heating element otherwise the pump will not function. The temperature of tank should be between 60-65 degrees to get best washing results. The rinse boiler should achieve a temperature of 85 - 90 degrees before the end of the wash cycle, which ensures that crockery dries effectively.

At least, once in two months, it should be run with a quart of white vinegar added to the tank. This will remove all deposits in the tub, and helps to keep the drain clear. Use of the liquid dispenser injects only couple of drops of liquid into the unit at the end of the wash cycle, whereas, the solid version is more effective and always works right through the wash and rinse cycles. For this it is rec ommended that both the detergents cups are filled by detergents as well as Rinse aid. In areas having hard water the cleaning properties of detergents is affected.

Choosing the best dishwashers

The criterion for choosing the Best Dishwashers are one, which uses less water and also booster heaters to heat the water to the required temperature for better results with less energy. Many dishwashers in the market today have soil-sensors to adjust detergent and water depending on how dirty the dishes are.

The dishwashers should be based on their performance features that in clude number of dishes to be washed at particular time, capacity of the machine and the number of racks available for the dishes.

Dishwasher comparisons should be made with different manufacturers using their dishwasher ratings. For example if a manufacturer rated for 100 rack/hour then the user can use it only for 80 rack/hour considering the constant volume for dish wash.

Energy efficiency also needs to be considered. We should not only consider the large volume of dishwashers but also see the energy utilized by them. The sensor used in the dishwasher should be capable of maintaining the temperature in the tanks and extends machine life by reducing the pump operating speeds.

Washing cycles should be considered in order to reduce the amount of water used and it should be capable of recycling the water. If there is any problem the dishwasher repair should be carried out by authorized service personnel as tinkering with it ourselves may damage the dishwasher parts.

How to load and run a dishwasher?

Some important points to load and run a dishwasher are
  • First the big chunks of food should be scrapped from the dishes.
  • Cooking vessel and large platters should be positioned such that they don't prevent water from moving out.
  • The plastic item should be at the top and place the plate and bowls at the bottom.
  • Ensure the glassware is put on the prongs in order to avoid breakage.
  • Put pots and dishes bottom facing the sprayer arm. This makes cleaning the vessel faster.
  • Silverware handles should be faced down, which means handles should be up in the silverware basket.
  • Fill the dishwasher cup with dishwasher detergent and add rinse agent to rinse agent dispenser.
  • The door should be closed and the wash cycle should be loaded properly.

How to get the most out of your dishwasher?

Instead of spending money in repairing or reinstalling the dishwasher it is safe to prevent it from damage. Always check if the ch ord is plugged securely and the breaker is not tripped. Check whether the door is completely locked and the cycle button should be pushed. Machine should be cleaned at least once in a month to avoid the lime and grease attached to the machine. The sprayer arm and filter screen should be placed at the bottom, which helps from preventing damage to plastic. Take apart front door according to the instruction of manufacturer if the detergent dispenser does not open. Use a dishwasher freshener to avoid frequent dishwasher repair.

Dishwasher usage has caught on with the introduction of portable dishwashers and other compact dishwasher models. Make sure you do dishwasher comparisons and study the dishwasher ratings carefully before selecting a dishwasher. Choice of a dishwasher should not be for its fanciful features but for its utility value.
